"Best Friends" Approach

A person with dementia needs a “Best Friend,” a family caregiver, professional caregiver or friend who empathizes with their situation. Best friends remain positive and dedicated to helping the person with dementia feel safe, secure and valued.

David Troxel, MPH, a co-creator of the "Best Friends Approach," shares the basics from the stage of the 2017 Alzheimer's Disease Management and Research Symposium.
