Here's how to participate in PURPLE OUT TENNESSEE 2025 along with Tennesseans from Memphis to Mountain City:
1.) Order 2025 T-shirts TODAY! Orders placed before the order deadline on October 21st will ship in time for you to have them for Purple Out Tennessee on November 7th.
You and your crew will love this vibrant, super-soft, short sleeve shirt.
2.) Figure out how to help reach our 1% goal! If every county raises funds that equal 1% of their population, together, we can raise $70,000 statewide!
Alzheimer's and dementia is personal for so many people. Sharing your personal story can be one of the most powerful ways to inspire and motivate supporters to honor their loved ones. Sometimes, sharing and then asking is Alz it takes!

Bid to Make Alzheimer's a Memory! Host a Silent Auction at your Courthouse, Justice Center, community location, or online to raise funds.
Funds can be turned in at your local Alzheimer's Tennessee office or mailed to the Alzheimer's Tennessee Main Office, Attn: Purple Out Tennessee, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. Be sure donors include your name and mailing address.

History
President Ronald Reagan first declared November as Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month in 1983, long before he shared his own Alzheimer's diagnosis.
Purple Out Tennessee This is the day in November for you and your crew to suit up in the newest Purple Out Tennessee T-shirts. Wear PURPLE to raise awareness about the state’s Silver Alert Law passed to help Bring Home Tennesseans safely! Make the Volunteer State purple and let's all show our support for families facing Alzheimer's disease. #PurpleOutTN

Because Alzheimer’s disease and dementia impact so many people, the Board of Directors for the State Court Clerks Association of Tennessee voted to adopt and support Alzheimer’s Tennessee, a Tennessee-based 501c3 not-for-profit organization that provides support services, promotes brain health through education, and champions research for better prevention and treatment strategies.
To WIN and be crowned Purple Out King or Queen Clerk:
Before Dec. 1: Clerks are invited to collect checks payable to Alzheimer’s Tennessee and mail to Attn: Purple Out Tennessee, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 and please include the clerk's full name, division (ie Clerk and Master, Circuit Court Clerk) and county name.
Monday, Nov. 18: Clerks at the COAT Conference can turn in any funds collected with checks made payable to Alzheimer's Tennessee.
100% of the proceeds will benefit Tennesseans. Thank you to the all the Clerks who participating in #PurpleOutTN #PurpleInTN plans for a November to Remember.

Share your plans via email, social media #PurpleOutTN and with local media, including newspapers, radio and television partners who will invite your community to get involved.
Spread the word in the following ways:
- Purple Out Your Social Media. Take pictures of yourself, co-workers, decorations... everything your doing to "Go Purple" and share them with the #PurpleOutDay hashtag.
- Wear Purple. If you have an official "Purple Out Day" shirt, show your colors! If not, wear anything purple. Get yourself a purple scarf, tie, ribbon or piece of jewelry and be part of the effort to Make Alzheimer's a Memory.

Decorate your office, classroom or courthouse to raise awareness with everyone you see during Purple Out Tennessee. Decorate at home, too. A purple wreath on your door or purple decorations on your mailbox will show the world your support for those facing Alzheimer's disease.
- Ask employees and the community to honor and memorialize loved ones by bringing in pictures of those who have lived with Alzheimer’s disease to create an Alzheimer’s Tennessee Tribute Wall. You may find the following materials helpful to print, post and share:
