Start a Team!
Teams are the heart of what makes Alzheimer Tennessee Walk so successful. Families, friends, businesses, churches, organizations and school groups build teams to honor those who have been touched by Alzheimer’s. There is no minimum or maximum number required for an Alzheimer’s Tennessee Walk Team.
Team captains and co-captains are the volunteer leaders who build excitement and help teams meet their fundraising goals. They motivate and encourage co-workers, friends and family to join their team and work to promote Alzheimer’s WALK.

Walk to support the mission
100% of the donations collected through the Alzheimer’s Tennessee Walks benefit Tennesseans. Alzheimer’s Tennessee is an independent, 501c3 not-for-profit organization that has been in the community for more than 30 years serving those facing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, promoting brain health through education, and championing global prevention and treatment efforts.
Walk for everyone touched by Alzheimer’s disease
Nearly every minute another American is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. More than 5.5 million Americans currently have this disease. Alzheimer’s is a brain disease, not a normal part of aging. Early detection is important because medication may slow the progression of the disease. Currently, there is no cure for this devastating illness.

Donations Make the Day!
The Walk isn’t over yet …
Alzheimer’s Tennessee Sponsors are significant supporters who want to show their commitment to the cause to their communities. Sponsors are recognized at Walks and throughout the year in a variety of ways as partners with Alzheimer’s Tennessee. Sponsor contributions made through the WALK offer help and hope to families facing Alzheimer’s. Sponsors are also encouraged to form employee teams and participate in the WALK.
Help make the Alzheimer’s Tennessee Walks happen. Join a group of volunteers who meet once a month (usually over lunch) to plan the event. As a planning committee member, you may help with recruiting more walkers and teams, requesting day-of-walk donations, reaching out to potential sponsors, and spreading the word about the walks. You’ll not only be the first to hear the latest and greatest plans for the walk, but you will help make the walks even bigger and better.
Help on WALK day in your community! We count on volunteers to help set up, clean up, take photos, plus register, feed, and direct WALKers. You’ll find the option to volunteer under each WALK registration type. Why Walk?
